CALL FOR ABSTRACTS 

On behalf of the Organising Committee for the 2026 Conference of the New Zealand Freshwater Sciences Society (NZFSS) we invite presentations covering a wide range of topics of relevance to freshwater science and management.  This is an opportunity to share knowledge and experience through the presentation of work spanning traditional biophysical science,  interdisciplinary and indigenous research, and the use of evidence to support freshwater policy development and build resilience to change. 

Abstracts are invited for Oral or Poster presentations.

If you have a suggestion for a workshop or special session, please EMAIL the team at OnCue and they will pass along to the programme committee.  

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

The format for abstract submissions is 500 words.

  1. Open the presentation portal here, add all required information and paste your abstract into the text box.

  2. All abstracts are to be submitted via the presentation portal by end of day (midnight) 5 August 2026. 

 

The committee intends to notify all submitting authors of acceptance or changes needed by 11 September 2026.

Themes

ABSTRACT THEMES

When uploading your abstract to the presentation portal, please select the theme or topic from the list below that best aligns with your submission. This selection will assist in assigning a suitable reviewer. However, themes may be adjusted if reviewers determine a better fit or if submission trends warrant changes to the initial theme categories.​
